Girl Crushes

I came across this post today. Well, not came across. I'm pretty much a HBM stalker, really. She's blogrolled to your right...I read her every day. What a great idea- and I'm not just saying that. I've been really lovin' my bloggifriends lately and I'm glad I can finally SHOUT THEM OUT!
I've met so many other moms that I have so much in common with, and I am so glad I FINALLY have an excuse to gush about how great these girls are without it seeming like I have some sort of girl crush on them, LOL, which I guess I kind of do. I do admire these women for their beauty and intelligence and sense of humor and all of the other wonderful qualities they have. I spend so much time instant messenging, talking on the phone, and commenting on all of my bloggifriends' blogs, The Boyfriend tells me I'm having "emotional affairs." LOL. (Please click the link to read the definition of girl crush, LOL. I don't have sex thoughts about these girls- I swear- I just admire and like them platonically).
The first person I ever met in the online mom universe was Tasha. She and I are the same age, so we can really relate to one another. She's beautiful inside and out, and she really cracks me up sometimes, but if you told me to sum her up in one word it would have to be honest. When I am having a problem or need an opinion, I know she will Dr. Phil me. I have never made a friend online who I feel like I can just pick up the phone and call. Tasha is that friend. Seriously, I consider her one of my close friends- and we've never even met. I can tell her anything. I'm not kidding you. I never expected to feel that way about someone who lives over 1300 miles away from me. When something shitty happens, I know I can call her- and she knows she can call me. And when something funny or good happens, or if we're just bored- you know one of us is either typing or picking up that phone. I am so greatful to have made such a good friend- she couldn't have come at a better time. I was a new mom in a new state, with no friends close by...and since I've become friends with Tasha, I feel like I do have a friend close by- as close as a phone call (or computer screen) away. Check out Tasha's site- she's worked hard and it looks so great!
I met Tasha on Petite Mommy's Contestformoms.com message boards. (This is a truly great place, by the way. She works so hard to make her site a fun and informative place- I've made some really great friends on those message boards). Ok- I know this is going to make me look even more like my girl crushes on these great chicks are far more than admiration, but I swear, I only LYLA-BF (love ya like a bloggifriend). Promise. Saying that, Petite Mommy is yet another of the pretty, put together and intelligent moms out there in cyberspace who I've had the pleasure of getting to know.
I'm not sure if anyone else has used the term "bloggifriend" before, but the first person I ever used it to describe was Rebecca. I commented on her blog a few days ago, gushing about how I felt "kindred" with her (yeah- still not helping my case, huh?). Seriously though, we have so much in common as far as opinions go- oh and shopping. Can't forget that. She's aching for the same Louis Vuitton that I am. If expensive purses can't bond a woman to another, what the hell can? There is a LOT that we have in common, and I admire her success- she's a writer and that's something I've aspired to be since the 2nd grade. And yes, keeping with my trend, she is also pretty. It also doesn't hurt that we share a love for American Idol (even though she likes Kat, LOL).
But seriously, having such girl crushes as I do... I really think them all being beautiful is a HUGE part of it for me. The allure, if you will. These women show me that YES, you CAN be a mom- and also be pretty, funny, smart, successful...Just read what Rebecca wrote here!

I know all of you are like- WHAT THE FUCK? So I've been coming to her blog and she's secretly been daydreaming about me?! LOL-no. But seriously, read this. There really IS such a thing as an innocent girl crush. I'm just embracing the fact that it's okay these days to actually say "girl crush" instead of just saying "I appreciate you," or "I admire you." I just don't think they hold enough weight or enough meaning to explain how grateful I am to have "found" you all. I truly do NOT want to sleep with you guys...
Unless you'd be into it?

Seriously. I am just kidding!
