How I Met Her Father...
First, if you haven't voted yet, it's your last chance- I'm going to announce the winning piece of lingerie by the end of day tomorrow, in honor of Valentine's Day. It's your last chance to boss me around or to boss your friends to boss me. LOL. So go boss.
I’ve been meaning to tell the story of how Tim and I met and got together, but never got around to it. Now, thanks to Tasha’s contest, I have the chance. It’s a pretty appropriate time, being that we just got engaged and all. So, onward.
Let’s set the scene. Picture this- it’s a crisp night in September 1999. I’m 17, I don’t have a boyfriend (for the first time in a long time), and I do NOT want one. At this point in my young love life, I am fed up with the un-fairer sex. I am with my best friend Emily. We run track together, and are both very crucial legs of the shuttle hurdle relay (I’m the lead anchor and she’s the third leg). It has been decided that it was a fine Friday for a girl’s night out.
“Let’s stop at McDonald’s to get something to eat.” Emily suggests.
I turn my car into the lot. “You always wanna come here because you work here and Paul gives us free food.” I reply.
“You complaining?” She retorts.
“Obviously not. We’re here, aren’t we?” I point out. Just as I pulled into a space, I see Emily’s eyes drift out my driver side window and into a car parked a few spaces away.
“That boy is cute…” Before she can protest, I’m out of the car telling her I’ll go talk to him for her. As I get closer, I see a boy in the passenger side of the guy’s car. I make a mental note that he is really hot, but unfortunately, I do not have a big mouth when it comes to me.
I get to the window of the car and inform the driver, who we later found out was named Monte, that my friend Emily (motioning toward her in my car) thinks he is fine. As it turned out, they knew Paul, our Mc Supplier! We all decided we’d meet up later that night to hang out.
Fast forward about an hour or two and we are all just standing outside of IHOP, trying to decide what to do. (Aside- I still remember what Tim was wearing- a tan Yankee hat, a white t shirt with a tan checkered button up over it and loose khaki pants (cargos, I think). We ended up shooting pool. Emily went and told Tim that I liked his friend Damien, which was NOT the case, obviously.
Eventually, it got back to Tim that I liked him and we had our first date at Midnight Bowling (which I had to sneak out for because my parents were THAT lame). I kissed him, and embarrassed myself by smashing my teeth on his, but somehow he forgave me. We dated for a year and a half. I took him to my senior prom, we were each others “first” a lot of things- first love, first well you know. Anyway, we split up for reasons that make no sense to me now.
Obviously we were meant to be because four and a half years later I saw two of his friends out at the mall, gave them my number to pass on to Tim, and one thing led to another. Turns out the spark never died, and neither did the flame. It’s still burning!!!

It sounds like you were meant to be! Wonderful story! You smashed your teeth into his? My husband and I didn't even kiss for the first two months we dated (and you say your parents are a lame) LOL. I had to just come out and ask him one day what the problem was! Anyway, I will have the winners up tommorow. Stay tuned!
